The Bible teaches us to come to the Father through our eternal High Priest, Jesus Christ.
Catholic have priests that set themselves up as a mediator for man to the Lord God. Mary and the Apostles are used as mediators, also.

The Bible teaches us to pray "head up" and "hands lifted".
Catholics teach praying "head down" and "hands together".

The Bible calls Satan the Serpent and the Dragon.
The Vatican resembles twin serpents when viewed from above. The Vatican showcases dragons in the architecture and art.

 
The New Testament never mentions popes, why are Catholics led by popes?

The New Testament calls all believers priests and calls Jesus Christ our High Priest; why would we even need a pope?


Catholicism is a construct that is built around Christianity. The Catholics believe that the Apostles passed on their power to a successor at the point of their death. This successor passes this power onto his successor at his death, and so on; the current pope is supposed to be Peter and speaks with absolute authority as God's mouthpiece. All power stems from the leadership, as they set themselves up as "God's ruling class".
